Welcome to my web site, where you can obtain information about my practice and topics of interest in the areas of psychology that I typically treat and in which I have experience. This site is updated periodically to bring you current information on a variety of issues, concerns and problems that affect daily living. I invite you to visit often.
The Featured Article page offers information about topics that are of interst to be and the patient population that I serve. The current article addresses coping with chronic illnesses.
My intent in providing services is guided by my thirty years of experience and concern for the integrity of each individual by respecting their individuality; their need for confidentiality; and by providing professional guidance and care in a timely fashion. My goal is to maximize individual functioning and responsibility, enhance interpersonal relationships, and encourage both a preventive and positive coping approach to life's challenges. To accomplish this, I approach treatment primarily with cognitive and cognitive-behavioral orientations in which the focus is on refining the negative and unhealthy thought patterns, beliefs and expectations we all possess. The process is active, solution-oriented and relatively brief. Skill training for children, adolescents and families may require additional interventions.
