Personal Statement

My intent in providing services is guided by my thirty years of experience and concern for the integrity of each individual by respecting their individuality; their need for confidentiality; and by providing professional guidance and care in a timely fashion. My goal is to maximize individual functioning and responsibility, enhance interpersonal relationships, and encourage both a preventive and positive coping approach to life's challenges. To accomplish this, I approach treatment primarily with cognitive and cognitive-behavioral orientations in which the focus is on refining the negative and unhealthy thought patterns, beliefs and expectations we all possess. The process is active, solution-oriented and relatively brief. Skill training for children, adolescents and families may require additional interventions.
